On October 14th, the InterContinental Montreal unveils its new splendor during a reception to be remembered celebrating the return of the green fairy
Montréal October 13, 2009 – Following a $14 million investment, the InterContinental Montreal is proud to unveil its new image and environment redefining all aspects of guest hospitality at the hotel. On Wednesday October 14th, more than 400 VIP guests are expected to experience the new décor and rich boutique flare. A well orchestrated program will allow guests to circulate throughout the hotel’s new premises while being constantly entertained and surprised. « The dramatic color scheme selected for the elaborate reception, combines sophisticated black velvet with touches of lime green accents, reminiscent of the green fairy so as to celebrate the new sexy and very exciting absinthe bar: Le Sarah B. » proudly announces Bernard Chênevert, General Manager of the 357 room five star property. The exquisite culinary surprises to be served during the entire evening are savory flavors of the south of France to permeate Osco! The hotel’s new signature restaurant. Models dressed by Montreal’s upscale Fée Verte Lingerie are to enact the green fairy imagery and play hostesses to the media and celebrity attending this much anticipating evening.
Renewed Style, Enhanced Comfort and Modern Technology in Every Room
A significant proportion of the investment has been used to completely remodel all 357 rooms and suites of the hotel to provide business and leisure travellers the ultimate in style, comfort, and modern technology. Every room now features new top quality furniture including: king size beds with Simmons BeautyrestTM mattresses, designer chairs, dressers and larger desks. Style and comfort for guests has been enhanced with top quality linens, new plush carpets, drapes, modern lighting, distinctive wallpaper, unique artwork. In the remodelled four fixture marble bathrooms guests can enjoy the three way shower massage with variable intensity and calibrated pressure. The spacious rooms have been designed with warm rich colour tones to provide guests with a comforting and engaging environment as the perfect escape after a long day of meetings or sightseeing. In addition, technology enthusiasts will greatly appreciate the new 40 inch LCD widescreen televisions with additional speakers in the bathroom, the Teac iPodTM alarm clocks, the Bartech electronic mini bars and the innovative contact free Kaba card entry system which is an industry first in the Québec market. The InterContinental Montreal is also the only hotel in the city where all rooms are equipped with an emergency lighting system.
A New Club Lounge, a Trendy Bar and a Restaurant Inspired by Provence
The hotel provides guests with completely redesigned dining and leisure amenities. This includes a new Club Lounge located near the remodelled reception area, a trendy wired bar, le Sarah B., themed around the fascination and historically illegal ritual surrounding Absinthe liqueur and a restaurant inspired by the Provence region in France. “The new restaurant, Osco! Invites locals and hotel guests to experience with a Provençal dining experience and ambiance. Our signature dishes will only be created from the freshest of ingredients and reflect a fusion of Provence and local specialities using only top quality local ingredients. Also exciting is our new cellar that l hold up to 1200 bottles of great wines to accommodate everyone's taste and budget,” explained executive chef Christian Lévêque while adding “our new sexy and exciting absinthe bar, le Sarah B., also features a tapas inspired menu and the sensuous green fairy private lounge which are a tremendous success with our guests and local clientele.”
